Below is all the information regarding Big O Speedway’s Rain Out Policy and guidelines to help understand the difference between a Rain Delay and Rain Out.

Grandstand Rain Out Policy

No Cash Refunds
Keep your ticket
When the heat races are complete, no rain check will be issued.
If a race night is cancelled before the heat races are complete, your ticket will act as your rain check.
Your ticket wil be good for admission to one of the next two scheduled races (not both) for equal or less value admission.
In the event the next week’s admission is higher, you will ay the difference when redeeming a rain check.
If you cannot return in the next two weeks, call the track phone 317-777-2222 within five days following the rain out.
If you desire a personal copy of the rain check policy, ask a ticket booth staff person.

Pit Rain Out Policy

No Cash Refunds. (Exception is a traveling series that will not be rescheduled)
Keep your pit wristband.
If a race night is cancelled before the heat races are complete, your pit wristband will act as your rain check.
Your rain check pit wristband will be good for admission to one of the next two scheduled races (not both) for equal or less value admission.
In the event the next week’s admission is higher, you will pay the difference when redeeming a rain check.
If you cannot return in the next two weeks, call the track phone 317-777-2222 within five days following the rain out.
Check www.bigospeedway.com for any re-scheduling of events that were rained out.

What happens when it rains on race day?

Everything below applies to both grandstands and pits.

Rain Delay

A rain delay is when the race is officially delayed. Then the track will be attempted to be brought back to racing condition.
Grandstand tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded and rain checks will not be issued in the event of a rain delay.

If the track can’t be returned to racing conditions, you wil be notified over the PA system that we have rained out for the evening.

If it is raining before the race:

If it is raining before the start of a race, the Big O Speedway crew has been hard at work protecting the track from the elements. This being the case, if the rain stops before the scheduled start time, there might be a rain delay and the scheduled events will continue as planned.

If it begins to rain during the race:

If it begins to rain during the race, the Big O Speedway crew will quickly work to return the track to safe racing conditions. At this time the Big O Speedway staff will work with the racers, along with local weather outlets, to ascertain the immediate weather outlook.
If the Big O Speedway feels that the inclement weather will pass, a rain delay is put into effect.
If the Big O Speedway feels that the inclement weather will not pass in a reasonable amount of time, an official rain out is announced.
If a rain out is declared after the heat races have been completed, the night will be considered complete and there will be no rain checks issued.
